Hop Spider - Stainless Steel

The hop spider is a great invention for homebrewers who want to keep hop matter out of their pumps, chillers, fermenters, and finished beer. All you have to do is hang the stainless steel hop spider over the edge of your kettle and pour your hops directly into the spider during the boil. It allows wort to agitate your hops but does not let too much of the particulate matter out.

You can fit about 10-12 ounces of pellet hops in the hop spider. The mesh has .2mm gaps, which should catch around 99% of the hop material. The hop spider is made from 304 stainless steel and measures ~35 cm high, 15 cm diameter at the top, and tapers down to 10 cm diameter at the bottom.

Some people even use one of these in their fermenter to keep the dry hops out of the beer!
